Pineapples are both delicious and symbolic.  Sweetness aside, they are a constant reminder representing hospitality.  We decided to jazz up some plain cloth napkins and give it a little sparkle and shine.  After all, there’s no better timeless motif than this fruit that evokes a tropical moment, and makes guests feel welcome to any dinner party.
To create: Brush a thin layer of the transfer adhesive onto a corner of the napkin in an oval shape. This will be the base of the pineapple. Let glue dry for 30 seconds. Cover the adhered area with the gold transfer foil, silver side down. Gently smooth down the foil with your fingers. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of the foil transfer and iron on medium heat for 20 seconds. Let cool completely then peel away the gold foil. Using a needle and thread, stitch around the top of the metallic oval to create the crown of leaves on the pineapple. Repeat process to create a set and serve up at your next meal for all your guests to be in awe.

It’s a known fact that flowers make everyone smile, and that’s exactly what we did when we came across the talented Erica Garcia of Little Paper Flowers on Instagram who helped us create this beautiful flower garland- sure to make any space pop! Floral garlands are a festive and sweet way to add a dose to whimsy to any space or event! This particular DIY was also featured in the latest episode of #EricaintheHouse on TLCme, where Erica helps create a nursery for her best friend.  Watch the Episode HERE!
To create: Cut out a 9-by-1-inch rectangle from the yellow crepe paper. With fringing scissors, fringe ¼-inch from the bottom. Wrap the fringe piece around floral wire and add a dab of hot glue to secure. Cut out nine coral crepe paper petals roughly 1.25-by-1.75-inches. Shape the petals by pulling the center with both thumbs. Once you have a desired cup shape, stretch out the top to create a ripple effect. Attach the petals around the fringed stem with hot glue. Cut out a small ½-inch strip of coral paper to hot glue around the base for a clean finish. Repeat to create 6-8 flowers then attach all on a string and hang on a wall to display.

Stripes are a summer staple and we’ve teamed up with The Style Safari to reinvent an old classic with a little lace twist. This DIY takes any old button-down shirt (you may want to steal one from your man when he’s not looking), and turns it into a breezy cami that’ll all will envy. You’ll want to wear it all summer long whether to the beach or on vacation.
To create: With a sharp pair of fabric scissors, cut a straight line starting at one underarm of the shirt to the other. Cut another straight line at the bottom of the button-down. Fold the hems in and seal it with fabric glue. Attach the lace trim with glue along the bottom hem. Finish off by gluing on the straps.

Lavender is known for its many health benefits so we’ve decided to inject a little oh-la-la-lavender into our home. With a few simple ingredients you can create this handmade candle that will warm up any room and leave it smelling amazing.
To create: Melt the candle wax on a stovetop at low heat and stir occasionally. When the wax is completely melted, add a few drops of your favorite scent in oil form, we used lavender oil. If you’re using a wood container like we did you might want tosand it first so it’s as smooth as possible and coat with two layers of spray paintGlue the wick down to the bottom of the container directly in the center. Pour the wax filling the container to the top, leave approximately half an inch. To ensure the wick is centered and standing straight, secure the top of the wick with tape to a paint stick or ruler. Find two objects of the appropriate height to lay the paint stick across and let the candle set. Let dry until the wax is completely hardened and snip the wick approximately 1/4″-1/2″.

We believe in always having a strong brunch game and who says you need to eat out in order to have next-level meals? We decided to roll up our sleeves and create a mouth-watering display of crepes, perfect for home entertaining that’s as equally easy to make as it is easy on the eyes. We love using the SPLENDA® Sugar Blend in both the filling and the topping, it’s the perfect addition to any recipe, for cooking or baking!
To create: Whether you use store-bought crepes (we don’t judge) or opt to make them yourself, the real fun part is the filling if you ask us!
FILLING: Combine 2 cups ricotta cheese, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and 4 tablespoons SPLENDA® Sugar Blend and squeeze ½ lemon in a mixing bowl. Blend until smooth. Spread the ricotta filling inside the cooled crepes and fold.
TOPPING: Combine 2 cups fresh raspberries, ¼ cup SPLENDA® Sugar Blend, 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice and 2 tablespoons water over medium-low heat in a small pan. Cook for five minutes. After crepes are stuffed with filling and drizzled with the sauce, garnish with your favorite seasonal fruits and mint leaves. Finish off by sprinkling SPLENDA® Sugar Blend for a sweet topping!
P.S.- Special thanks to SPLENDA® for sponsoring and sweetening up this DIY.

Just your luck, we have you covered for St. Paddy’s Day with everyone’s favorite sugar and spice combo. Whether you need a sweet way to start your day for breakfast, or looking for a quick and delicious dessert to serve, this recipe can be whipped up in a matter of minutes and is a perfect addition to any St. Patrick’s Day fete!
To create: Allow frozen puff pastry to thaw and roll onto the countertop. Lay a piece of parchment paper down. You may need to put down flour first if its sticking to the surface. Cut dough into squares that fit your waffle iron. Let your treat to-be cook on medium heat for five minutes. Once browned and puffed, mix 2 cups of   SPLENDA® Sugar Blend with 2 tablespoons ofcinnamon. Lucky for us, SPLENDA® Sweetener Products can be used almost anywhere sugar is used, including your favorite cooking and baking recipes! Toss the puff pastry in this mixture as soon as it is removed from the waffle iron. Cut the puff pastry into sticks after dusted and cooled. Dip (or drizzle) cinnamon sticks in your favorite melted chocolate or other sweet options. We opted for a green hue for St. Paddy’s Day, naturally. P.S. - Special thanks to SPLENDA®  for sponsoring and sweetening up this post.

Not all romantic desserts need crazy prep time. We’ve got the perfect sweet treat that anyone can make in less than 30 mins. Put a spin on a cult classic and mix unusual flavors together. We opted for red velvet with our favorite Jeni’s ice cream flavor, candied ginger. The possibilities are endless.
To create: Mold the pre-mixed red velvet cookies into the heart-shaped pan until it is completely filled. Bake according to the instructions on the packaging. Repeat to create two heart-shaped cookies. Let cool then scoop ice cream on one cookie and sandwich the other on top.

Whether you’re hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner party or having a romantic dinner for two, there’s always room to insert some personalization. Our friend, Jeran at Oleander + Palm devised this adorable embroidered napkin that is both simple and heart-warming. Pair the cross-stitched heart with a plain or printed napkin, the possibilities are endless.
To create: Attach the embroidery hoop to the corner of your napkin. To align your design, count out the squares so the heart is equal distance from the side and bottom of the napkin. Stitch two rows each of the three different pink-hued embroidery threadto create an ombré effect. Tie it off and snip off any excess thread.

To create: Fill a tall glass with canola oil and place in freezer for 30 minutes. P.S. -you want a tall glass because the “caviar” needs time/space to gel as they fall to the bottom. In a small saucepan, combine 2 grams of agar-agar with ¾ cup ofpomegranate juice. Bring to a boil. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Remove the oil from the freezer. Using a pipette, drip the pomegranate mixture into the oil. The drops will solidify as they descend. If the pomegranate-agar mixture cools and solidifies before you can use it, simply remelt it in a saucepan again. When done, remove the caviars with a sieve and rinse with cold water. Serve in drinks (flavored boba anyone?), on salads, in desserts, on smoothie bowls, on toasts, or enjoy them on their own.

These days, cutting boards aren’t just for slicing & dicing. Any stylish hostess knows a clean block of wood is the perfect surface for serving everything from beautifully arranged meat & cheese plates to bite sized deserts. And when this kitchen standard comes out of the drawer and onto the dining table, it’s only right to give it a creative boost with a little personalization…so we turned to Lauren from A Fabulous Fete to inspire us with their playful calligraphy and add a graphic, celebratory touch. Dream up your own fun phrases or holiday messages and create a custom board you’ll never get bored of! P.S. - check out her amazing custom stationery line.
To create: Print the template and cut out the phrase with scissors. Place the cut out template over a sheet of carbon paper and on the center of the cutting board. Use a pencil to trace the phrase onto the wood. Remove the template and carbon paper. Go over the traced letters with a paint marker. Let dry for a few minutes and voilà.
P.S. - this is a decorative board. We recommend adding a layer of wax paper before placing edibles. To clean, either wipe down with a damp cloth or gently hand wash.

The best home decor DIYs are those which only take a handful of bucks to create something that looks seriously luxe…that’s why we wanted to share these gilded pineapple bookends made by Pretty Life Girls. Honestly if we could keep a can of gold spray paint in our purse and go mentally metallic on random stuff all day, we totally would…but in the meantime, join us in creating this little golden moment.
P.S. - pineapples are symbolic for hospitality and all of the things we appreciate about a home: warmth, welcome and friendship!
To create: Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto the center of the woodblocksurface. Quickly place your faux-pineapple onto the hot glue. Hold for a few seconds and let dry. In a well ventilated space (preferably outdoors), spray the entire pineapple block with an even coat of gold metallic spray paint. Repeat steps to create a set of bookends.

We love bringing the outside in and accenting a room with colorful plants, but the real fun lies in finding a planter that ties them in with your decor. Enter the unique work of this week’s contributor House That Lars Built: they add a gilded touch to recycled bottles and tins that seriously wins! The gold leaf treatment transforms even the most vintage finds into glam, high-end objects that will never go out of style.
To create: In a well ventilated space (preferably outdoors), coat the entirebottle or container with an even layer of spray paint. Let dry for a few moments and coat a second layer. Once the paint is completely dry, use a paintbrush to coat the bottle withadhesive haphazardly. Paint thin areas of glue to thick, have some drips and splatters too. Let the glue become tacky but not dry completely. Tear small pieces of the gold leaf and adhere it to the tacky surface. Use a brush to help lay the leaf down. Again, the method should not be perfect to give a marble effect. Continue placing on the gold leaf until you’ve achieved your desired look.

Are you taking enough time to truly appreciate your showers as a relaxing, cleansing escape? There are only two things you need to know to craft a more luxurious shower experience: 1. Accept nothing less than the softer & smoother skin that comes from using a gentle cleanser like Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash (our friends at Allure didn’t give it the 2015 Best of Beauty Award for Best Moisturizing Body Wash for nothin’) and 2. Finish it off with your very own DIY towel! Colorfully tasseled Turkish towels add a stylish accent to any powder room, with the added pride of drying off with something made by you. Make some for your own home, or create a lovely little body wash and towel set gift basket for your friends! We recommend Dove as it’s the #1 Dermatologist recommended brand and also the #1 brand used personally by Dermatologists at home.
To create: Use a ruler and tailor’s chalk to evenly mark along the bottom of the towel. The spacing is dependent on the amount of tassels you use, just be sure to divide the amount of tassels to the width of the towel equally. Stitch on each tassel with needle and thread. Continue to stitch until the entire bottom is filled with tassels.
